Q I notice that your moisturising creams contain parabens. Are these safe?

A Any product containing a mixture of oils and water must have preservatives to prevent the growth of mould and harmful bacteria. In our opinion and that of our manufacturers, at this moment in time, parabens remain the most effective preservatives for the job. A great deal of research has been done into the long-term safety of parabens and until such time as a viable, natural alternative is available we will continue to use these products.

Q Why don’t I get a strong lather from your hair shampoo?

A Basically, bubbles are bad for you. To be more accurate, the foaming agents that create lather and bubbles in many shower gel and hair shampoo products are bad for you as these are the same chemicals that cause skin sensitisation and irritation. Bubbles and lather are also not necessary if you just want to clean your skin and hair — they just provide a fun or luxury element to the washing process.

A Yes, our products are formulated to be suitable for use on very sensitive skin to help restore the skin’s natural balance. We have many satisfied customers with skin conditions such as psoriasis who use the Original Health range as a part of their daily skincare regime.

A We certainly hope so. Our products are formulated to be suitable for use on very sensitive skin and we aim to remove all the major causes of irritation and reaction from our formulations. We always recommend however that anything applied directly to the skin should firstly be tested for compatibility on a small area.
